ABOUT INDEE MOSS

Indee Moss (b. 1981) creates at the intersection of empirical inquiry and artistic reverence. Her work utilizes the analytical precision of painting to elevate subjects, merging Old World technical rigor with a contemporary perspective.

Her path to the easel was a deliberate convergence of two worlds. Earning a PhD in Chemistry and a Master’s in Accounting, Indee spent nearly two decades in the sciences and business sector. While her career was defined by data, the "beauty" of nature remained as compelling as its mechanics. Her foundational love for art—nurtured by childhood art and sculpture classes and years spent studying the Great Masters in world-class museums—remained a constant heartbeat throughout her corporate and scientific careers. In 2024, this fascination culminated in a pivotal shift: Indee departed the energy industry to align her professional life with a lifelong spiritual calling toward fine art.

Indee utilizes the analytical precision of 19th-century French academic traditions to elevate contemporary subjects. Her work is defined by high-chroma 'pops' of color and a sense of whimsical clarity, set against minimalist backgrounds. By merging Old World technical rigor with a modern aesthetic, Indee creates floral and still life paintings that feel both timeless and vibrantly current.

Currently working from her studio in Iowa, Indee continues to bridge the gap between "Old World" quietude and modern clarity, capturing the spirit of the natural world through a refined, scientific lens.
